**ETA***
Thanks for the prayers. Puppy and Puppy 2 survived a wash and dry cycle. They even smell really good! I hope to not have to do that too often. And Sophie has been very mindful of where they are since they reappeared after being gone all afternoon.
And I'm happy to report, she left her jammies on last night!!!
***********
Poor Puppy and Puppy 2 (Puppy and Puppy 2 are the beloved stuffed animals of Sophie.) became the victims of Sophie's latest experiment.
At some point in the night Sophie decided her diaper was just too confining and wondered to herself "I wonder if my night would be better without this silly diaper on?".
It's not like we make it easy to remove. She does have to work at a couple of layers to get there. No matter. This girl has determination!
I didn't get to discover the initial findings. Glen did.
I woke up to find her in her pack and play in her room. And the smell. It's a wonder we all weren't killed by ammonia poisoning. Ewwww. But ya know? Sophie was fine with it at this point. Apparently not so much with every item in her crib soaked, but in her mind it was a necessary part of the journey. I guess.
Then there was the moment I have dreaded for a year. Puppy (and pal) in need of a wash. I'll be honest, I don't think they are going to make it. I put them in a lingerie bag so it could be as gentle as possible, but still, I felt a bit like I was putting them in a body bag. And when Sophie saw them in there.....the tears said it all. She was not prepared to see them that way.
I don't make it a big habit to pray for stuffed animals, but this is an emergency. Dear Lord, please let them survive the wash. Pleaaaaase!
Sophie still stinks. After breakfast it looks like we're headed for a bath.
Sarah took one sniff of Sophie's room and said "Oh, I guess you will be needing to get this cleaned up...I'll be glad to watch Dora until you need me." And so, she watches.
Happy Monday!

So, did it all come out in the wash?
Sounds like...while Sarah watches Dora the Explorer you clean up after Sophie the Explorer :-)
Love It!
