First time away from Sarah

Oh my. Yes, I will be leaving Sarah for the first time in our life together (overnight anyway). She'll be with Daddy, but all you mom's will understand that it doesn't really matter...I'm still going to be away from her.
I'm beyond excited to be going on my trip...3 days of nothing but scrapbooking!!! It will be so much fun!!
Still, I can't help but want to tell Glen "one more thing" that Sarah might want or need. He doesn't know that she likes her green beans to be "this" ready, or that the wrong amount of cheese in cheesy eggs will render them non-edible, or that she likes to switch places in the Wal-Mart buggy a minimum of 3 times before she's sure of the best position for that trip....things I never even realized I knew until I imagined her day without her normal creature comforts.
There is no doubt she will love her alone time with the man that hung the moon...things may be different, but she is one flexible noodle. It's Mommy who wants Sarah's world to be just the way Sarah likes it, no bumps or confusion...and that's our nature, as moms, isn't it?
The best part about leaving is coming home....and already I'm anticipating the thrill deep in my heart to see my 2 favorite people again!!!
Anyway...I'm off to be creative!!!

First post...apparently the wait may be a while.....

Most people reading this know that we are chasing our 2nd daughter, currently waiting for us in China. With our adoption of Sarah in 2004 the wait was only 6 months from the time we were logged in with the CCAA to our referral day. Today the CCAA announced they had match May 26-30th....that's the 3rd month of May referrals. And it didn't even include LID's for the 31st. So, basically it will take 4 months to match 1 month of LID'S....and there are still 7 months of LIDs ahead of us!!!! This all sounds like greek to those outside the international adoption community, but what it means.....we've got a long wait ahead of us. Rumor has it, we'll be lucky to get our referral by the end of 2006.
When we were waiting for Sarah this would have killed me. Our arms are far from empty as we wait, but we will still long for our daughter that is waiting for us in China. Right now, she is simply MeiMei (may-may), which means "little sister" in Chinese. Coming up with a name has been quite a challenge!!
We have still maintained our website at www.swanstochina.com. As I get better with this site we may look at closing that one down. Just need to see which one is easier to maintain.
For now...here is Sarah...so dearly loved by so many. We have been truly blessed.
