Oh these girls. Man oh man!
I have no idea where time goes, but it speeds by!
I think I have decided that, to my horror, Sarah is my "easy one". Sophie is such the adventure seeker...has a bizzare need to put everything in her mouth...has started throwing her head against whatever is there when things don't go her way...
The latter is what worries me. Sometimes it's when she's mad, those I can somewhat predict and wisk her into a safe place to do what she's going to do. But sometimes she's just having so much fun she throws herself back in pure delight. Today that delight came in the bathtub. Just when I think she's getting the hang of keeping herself alive in a hard tub with water...she kicks back! I swear I'm afraid of finding out she has a cracked skull in 39 places! Pray that she decides the pain of hitting her head on something isn't worth the point she's trying to make.
She is full of delight too. The way she asks you to go for a "duck" while grabbing your finger and pulling you up. (duck = walk) The way she calls roll every morning from her bedroom until everyone is accounted for. If Glen gets her up, the first thing you hear is "mama, mama" then "rah rah" (that's what she calls sarah), then "dattt" (that's ali, our cat) and then the dog. She uses her sign language for them with is so cute to me.
Or there is her latest discovery that if you pat the floor next to you someone will come and sit where you are patting. She finds this particularly funny. And when you do the same to her to change her diaper...she wiggles her way to the exact spot you need her.
Music and dance! 2 of her favorite things in her little world. Absolute delight.
"puppy" is her new attachment. It's a rather large, yummy soft stuffed dog. She loves Puppy! Never ever take puppy from her or you will see heartbreaking waterworks.
Then there is my "easy one"....let's just say her 5th birthday can not come fast enough! 4.5 was a rough 6 months. But I'm starting to see my sweet sarah again. We are in day 2 of homeschool and it's gone pretty well considering we are doing everything new, on a new schedule, with unknown distractions around every corner. But every day she tells me that she is so glad she has the best teacher ever and thanks me for teaching her. awwwwww.
And I really have loved teaching her. As we find our groove I think it's only going to get better.
She starts Ballet Magnificat on Monday. We're both excited about that. And tomorrow night she is going to a trial class of Tai Kwan Do because she had so much fun there at a birthday party. And she has Chinese school once a month. and a kindergarten co-op group once a week. I don't expect all of these things to last forever, but I guess this is the time to get her feet wet.
Well, my Ambien has kicked in. I'll try to post pics tomorrow while Sarah does her work.

Wow...that must be a long-lasting Ambien. We're still looking for those new pictures. :)
I know your days are busy. I keep my sweet 3 yr. old grand, Hannah, a lot and I think she wore me down today! So many questions and activities!
You're an awesome writer and a patient, hardworking mom! Kay G.
