Sophie is the hardest working little sister in the world. Never have I seen a 2nd born work so hard to prove that the 1st born was the easy one. Of course, she's "the hard one" in a perfectly perfect and cute sort of way. :)
2 days ago during "pack and play time" she was practicing her leg extensions. If you saw Kung Fu Panda and remember the panda doing the split at the cookie jar....you've got a good picture of Sophie. :0 Anyway, the thought did cross my mind that if she put her mind to it she could pop right out of there. But, Sarah never did, so how could I think Sophie would??
Next thing I know Sophie is standing at the gate. This is impossible when you should be in the pack and play. Something was amiss. Sarah explained, sort of, that she didn't see the actual pop as she was too involved in Dora to notice the magical popping baby 2 feet from her. *sigh* (But then, hey, her mother didn't see it either, so who am I to judge??) But Sarah was able to confirm she landed on her feet. Great...that should provide some encouragement for the next try.
A whopping 3 hours later we put Sophie down to bed. We thought we had removed all temptation to pop out of the crib. Lowered it all the way. Moved the paraphernalia on the sides to the wall side. Moved the rocking chair to a seemingly useless position. Opps...we forgot to move the....floor. Sure enough, as Sarah walks by to put clothes away we hear "Sophie fell out of her crib." I go darting across the room to see Sophie rounding the corner like it was no big deal. Well, she was rubbing her head and saying "ouch". Apparently she's hit it enough that it's not worth crying about any more. Sarah confirmed that she saw Sophie hit the floor. "I just looked in and BOOM saw Sophie land on her head and back." Nice.
I went to bed wondering how I would ever sleep again. And prayed that Sophie "gets" natural consequences.
I'm happy to report that there have been no further occurrences. For a whole day.
Sarah, at 2-something, had never even lifted a leg to consider climbing out. Of course now she's out of her bed constantly...so there is hope that Sophie will be the easy 5 yr old. haha
Let's see if I can find some pictures for you....
**eta** i tried. the pc hates me as much as i hate it. refuses to do something as simple as load pictures. I dream of a day where I can share picture after picture with you all, and when I can take a sledge hammer to the box under my desk. grrrrrrr
I'll try again tomorrow.

These are such precious, beautiful pictures! I guess we all need to ask Santa to bring you a computer that is photo-friendly so we can enjoy photos like these more often. :)
