"I Caught a Fish THIS Big"

Seriously, the proof is there! You know, I've imagined a lot of proud moments that might happen with my first born...I can honestly say I never really expected her first "official" accomplishment to be "Winner of the Father/Daughter Fishing Tournament - Biggest Fish". Ahhhh, but it's true!
With her too cute Barbie (or is it Pooh? Who knows, but it's pink) fishing pole and some name brand hot dogs they set out for Old Trace Park. I didn't get to see the day unfold but I hear from some reliable sources that she actually taunted the veteran fisherman sitting across the way who were in no way involved in the tournament. If only they had known that Oscar Myer has a way with f-i-s-h-i-n-g! Now, true to her upbringing, she never touched the hook or a fish....we're strictly cast and reel girls in this family. We're all about technique but the help does the dirty work. heehee
Anyway, it was a fun day all around. Father and daughter got some quality time together and Mommy had some quiet time on the lawn mower. For all you moms that haven't caught on to this yet, it really is great quiet time....the little ones are scared of the noise and the big ones are weed-eating. :)
Here is Sarah and her big fish (as close as Glen could get her to it). Oh, she won a really nice "real" pole too.

I love the distance between Sarah and the fish! She just get cuter all the time.
Will try to send a pic of the precious little Texas granddaughter but can't promise it will make it there...still learning to send pictures.
Keep us posted on Sophie. Blessings!

Such a girly girl. You can tell she is very proud of the fish though. Good job Sarah!

Loved the story and the picture. When Lindsey was little, Buddy took her on the father/daughter fishing tounament. Lindsey too caught the largest fish. However, Buddy decided that because it was so big she needed help pulling it out of the water after she got it to the bank. It flopped and the hook fell out of its mouth and the fish swam thankfully to safety. My innocent little child, who is now 20, looked up at her father with sadness in her eyes and said, "Daddy, why did you let my fish go" Needless to say he was not her hero that day. So tell Glen he did a great job in that he actually got the fish home and tell Sarah there is NOTHING wrong with not taking that fish off the hook, that is why we take dads and husbands fishing in the first place. Many Blessings
