What do you want for your birthday??

This is still a fun question because she really doesn't get that there are stores that really will have anything she could possibly want. Life is still simple and sweet.
When I ask she says:
"Ummmmm bird day cake...for ME! And ummmm, sing "Bird day to me!"

You want to sing "Happy Birthday to You"?

"Noooooo, you sing to MEEEE!!"

So, we've got her major desires taken care of! Whew! What a relief!

But, as I sit and consider that my baby will be 3 in a little over a month, I realize the all-consuming power of wanting to find something that will somehow show how much we love her. Of course there is no thing that could ever do that...but still, you wish there was.
We went to the Dollar Tree this weekend and nearly found that "thing". A balloon. I can't describe the absolute delight she had as I wheeled the buggie under the ballon gathering spot so she could reach up and grab her very own balloon. She held it like it was what she had been dreaming of for years. Not only was it a perfect balloon, but it had Elmo and Big Bird and Zoe on it! She held on tightly to the ribbon, but yet gentle at the same time...all as she looked up high to see her balloon following her. BUT THEN...there it was!! The other balloon....the yellow smiley face balloon. Oh, she was about to burst!!! "Can I? Can I? Can I?" As we handed her the 2nd balloon I seriously thought her world was going to stop spinning. All that for $2.20.
As we walked out and the storm was rolling in the smiley face balloon made a break for it. As it sailed off into the sky Sarah asked where it went. We told her that maybe God would take it to Sophie. Sarah was happy with that.

Now, for what you all really want to see...pictures!
